Character bio :Gabriel is an extraterrestrial from an unknown planet sent to earth as a potential ambassador allowing earth to join the intergalactic community. Sent to earth as an infant, Gabriel is found and adopted by the Trent family. Raised in rural southern America in the 1940's and 50's, Gabriel, who resembles African Americans, was subjected to the systematic segregation of the time. As he learned about himself and how to control his abilities, Gabriel became a champion of sorts for African Americans as they fought for equal rights during the Civil Rights Movement of the 1950's and 60's. After a series of tragedies, Gabriel retreats to the woods of Montana only to emerge as a new man. He begins to travel around the world solidifying his place not only as an American hero but a global one. When The Guild is assembled, they look to Gabriel for leadership.

Creator and Writer: Richard Douglas Jones
It's easy to say that I created Native Sun because of a lack of comic book characters of color but that's really only half of it. Not only is there an obvious lack of characters of color but there's a lack of stories told from their perspective (their skin may be black but their stories clearly aren't). I wanted to take an honest, realistic look at how the world would react to a super powered being(s) of color. It is my hope that my interpretation will both emotionally stirring and thought provoking.
Artist : Alison Duckett
I've been drawing since I can remember, and I decided in high school to be a career artist, working for the last 7 years as a professional tattoo artist. I'm excited to wanted to work on Native Sun because I'm ready to challenge myself in my quest for greatness. As an artist, I want to inspire other artists. I want viewers to look at my art and want to find their individual styles.
